Canada Post and USPS postage rate quick reference card PDF Print E-mail

This handy sheet gives the current Canada Post and USPS postage rates for basic letters between the USA and Canada. I've exported the spreadsheet as an easily printable PDF file. Print it out for a handy quick reference card, which you can keep next to your stamps or your postage scale. You can also modify the source spreadsheet. Both source and PDF edition are licensed CC-BY-SA.

I made this card because I wanted it for myself. I travel between the USA and Canada frequently, and send mail within each country and across the border in both directions. Converting between grams (used by Canada Post) and ounces (used by USPS and my scale) was annoying. I couldn't find a single rate card which covered both countries succinctly. And with each service raising its prices about once a year, my improvised rate cards were going out of date every few months. So, I made a spreadsheet which gets the relationships between rates right based on a few fundamental prices, and which formats the rates in a compact quick-reference format. Now, when the rates go up, it's a quick matter to update the spreadsheet, generate a PDF file, and print out new reference cards.

PDF document iconHere is the current Canada Post & USPS postage rate quick reference card in PDF form . It is two pages, but page 2 is a duplicate of page 1. Print it double-sided on 8"x11" landscape paper, cut in half, and you have two compact copies of the card. Or, print just page 1, fold it over, and you have a single copy which is somewhat bulkier.

Here is the current Canada Post & USPS postage rate quick reference card source in OpenOffice.org 3.x spreadsheet form. Use it if you want to modify the card, or if you want to reflect a postage rate that I haven't caught yet.

It's my intention to keep these up to date, but I may not always notice postage rate changes right away. Feel free to contact me if you have comments or suggestions for improvement.

These documents are not official, and they come with no warranties! I make these sheets in my spare time, and I offer them to all comers freely. Don't expect to get what you aren't paying for.  If the accuracy of this information is critical to you, then you should double-check the information against the official postal service sources before relying on it.
